    Return policy on Cybertruck?

So currently someone posted on another Tesla forum that they were unhappy with quality as the reason and Tesla's response did not deny the repurchase and release the owner. They worded it as "Quality issues" don't qualify as a reason for repurchasing pursuant to the agreement. Tesla is correct...

Model Y 2024 new range estimates

Or they can make it where it switches back to normal then they don’t have to test it in that mode. If they want to claim the higher range.

Model Y 2024 new range estimates

The simple fact is that no Tesla can reach the claimed range even new. On my 2 Y's I never got the claimed range, not even close. Other EV's meet or exceed the range. I drove an I3 for a while and it got the rated range. Also had a Taycan for a short bit and easily exceeded the rated range. I...

The Y is using the 4680, very well documented on this site and in teardowns. Actually the Y was the first Tesla to use the 4680. This video tear down was done over a year ago....

Your mistake is thinking all those cells are destine for the CT, as we know the Y also uses the same cell and on top of that the cell production is for all Tesla's globally. So in reality maybe 1-2 of the current lines make cells for the CT.

Model y clicks and pops when I accelerate/slow - axels need lube. Tesla wants $500

I think the bigger issue your are going to have is an AMP output restriction through the onboard plug. There is a reason both Ford and Tesla will have a kit for this. Just an example the AMP needed on the Ford to power the home is 80amps. Just because it's rated for X Kwh does not mean it will...

If you read the details on the ford website the home backup can’t be ran from propwer outlets. It must go through the charger port and requires an 80amp outlet breaker. You will find this will not be as easy as you think…

Correct but not for the price or purchase of a CT… i know it’s a hard concept but it’s clearly spelled out online.

Cybertruck announce prices may actually happen

Your deposit is not a purchase agreement!!!! The Deposit is for a place in line to place an order for a car! Once you complete this and press the order button a purchase agreement is generate. This is how every manufacturer works when buying a car! This is the document you get in The finance...

Cybertruck announce prices may actually happen

Correct but this contract is only for a place in line to order a car... It is a fully refundable deposit for a place in line to order a car, not a deposit for the purchase of the car. The terms will be in the purchase agreement something all other limited available cars have. Ford did it with...

    BMW latest convert to NACS

So word is that all the brands that signed on will get a NACS to CCS with RFID chip in it and you will have to buy them, then pair to app so you can setup billing. I know BMW, MB and Rivian all mentioned this somewhere in the documents they released. Also electrify America will be adding the...
  24. E

    BMW latest convert to NACS

Buying teslas at this point has nothing to do with supporting the SC network. I read an article from Bloomberg that valued the SC business at over $100 Billion. If they did not open source it and allow other companies access they would have declining revenue. This was a business decision to...
  25. E

    BMW latest convert to NACS

It’s open source and actually costs the other brands a lot to reprogram and integrate software. Tesla had to agree / open source the IP or no one would pick it. Now though you are stuck using supercharges and Tesla can dictate charging rate. Eventually Tesla will become a master distributor of...

Camera, Navigation and AP Failure After Update

On mine I did a full HV disconnect as instructed and did not fix. Some get lucky others not so much. Seems like a common issue though.
  27. E

    BMW latest convert to NACS

Everyone relax, as Tesla sales decline the net add won't be what you think. Also charging speeds are going to increase so this is really a moot point. The bigger issue is the slower charging older S and X hogging the spots for longer than the newer cars.
  28. E

Camera, Navigation and AP Failure After Update

I did what you described and did not fix the issue. My problem was an error in firmware that could not be rewritten. Tesla even tried to rewrite the firmware.

Performance vs not in a new Y

Tesla even notes the P model stipulation on 0-60 but nothing on the LR. Since I have never tested this can’t say for sure but why would tesla put a disclaimer on the P 0-60… I think this forum has a thread on this topic.
  30. E

Performance vs not in a new Y

Have you looked at teslas claim for 0-60 On the P they are using rolling and the LR is using stand still. If you compare stand still to standstill or apple to apples, they are identical. I believe they even have YouTube videos on this. Also the range delta is about 20 miles not so insignificant...
  31. E

Performance vs not in a new Y

My recommendation is Get they Y Long Range with the 20” rims then get the performance boost for $2k . The performance acceleration are almost identical and you maintain the longer range. You sacrifice the lower suspension, read breaks and carbon trim part.
  32. E

    Launch is Imminent

Not necessarily true. More expensive does not always mean more margin. In fact they may make more margin $ on the CT then the top spec S/X since it has less parts and does not need to be painted. Painting is a giant cost on cars that I don't think most people realize. Also I don't think we will...

Camera, Navigation and AP Failure After Update

It is covered under the 50k mile warranty. Also it was no charge. But if after the 50k miles warranty it would be $3,500. I asked about it being past the warranty but caused by the software and they said its a case by case situation if covered.
  34. E

Camera, Navigation and AP Failure After Update

The only fix was full FSD computer replacement. The issue was found in the firmware stuck in a loop and the service center was unable to resolve even with reset and Re flash. Mine happened right after a software update.

Well that would be 0.000 since pricing doesn't exist proving my comment... :) Also 5% deviation is a statistical anomaly that would be excluded in all production planning or cannibalization planning since total volume of X is so low... I think people are forgetting Tesla does not care to sell an...

You understand the total volume of Model X units made is a drop in the bucket compared to all other models Tesla makes... They sold 31k Model X units in 2022... (published in the shareholder report) it will be closer to 5% than 95%... LOL

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

I believe they will sell every unit they make but it's really price dependent. If the dual motor is more than $69k it will be a much harder time, Elons hesitance on volume speaks to this. These were originally priced the same as the Y. Also some feature like 6 seats and bulletproof windows have...

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

Same boat! Not having the credit makes it not appealing. Whether you put the money down or not you are making the payment. My experience has been to put as little down on leases as possible if your car gets totaled you could be out that money and no car.
  45. E

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

Lots of assumption on used Y cost... I see price coming down significantly from where they are as other brands will enter the market in this time. Heck the Y and all current Tesla models are more likely to reduce in new price over time then increase... Also the business benefit for me to lease...

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

Confused by this question as you can calculate this on tesla site... Tesla leases $1,445 due at signing, payment $725 a month x36 with 12k miles per year. $52k car Loan with same details $849 With the tax credit applied ,$0 due at signing, payment $539 a month x36 with 12k miles per year...

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

If you don’t income qualify you can’t get the credit on purchase… but if you leases you do as it’s classified as commercial since the leasing company holds the title. Also I have a business scenario that leasing is better. I would never purchase / loan an EV outright, just my preference for...

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

Just had a chat with Tesla and it looks like they are now the only car manufacturer who won't apply the $7,500 credit to leases. BMW, MB, Porsch and all other manufacturers are using it as the provision for commercial car applies to leasing company (not a loophole), so they pass it on. Looks...
