    Unlock Charge Port - Idea

Maybe I’ve misunderstood but I thought the fact it remains locked is for security reasons to stop people walking away with your cable. 🤷‍♂️

    [UK] Spring Software Update

My car has been parked in a field near Gatwick this week and I see the software update is not longer waiting for WiFi to download like it was a couple of days ago. ☹️

Did Tesla design cars to be able to take a range extender just incase?

The same London mayor who said he wouldn’t expand the ULEZ zone. 😂 I think we need to be prepared, like I’ve seen with removal of local council parking discounts, that EVs won’t/can’t be given special status when income needs to be found.

Did Tesla design cars to be able to take a range extender just incase?

I hadn’t read this thread as title wasn’t a big draw for me but just read and caught up 😳. I have a lot of sympathy with what @FastLaneJB said back near the start. I have driven 40k over 3 years in my car and 3.5k of that was from one touring holiday in France in August 22. I regularly drive...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Anyone else considering offloading their Tesla shares after this change in strategy (as well as the decision not to build the Model 2)? Shares haven’t dropped like I would have expected but feel it’s only time - and maybe not much time. 🤷‍♂️

    UK Pricing piss take

Is it any less irritating than the other manufacturers introducing promotions at random times to shift stock? Historically, you always needed to negotiate and I always felt it might have been possible to have made a better deal so never left a showroom happy I’d got the best price. Unless...

    Model 3 Highland Performance

Can I assume you need to user public chargers a lot to charge your car? For home charging at cheap rate I calc that 9000 miles of driving only works out as £200 ish. Sorry, I probably shouldn’t be challenging another man’s man maths.

    Keep Right. Ahhhhhhhhhh

I posted (on upgrade thread?) that I found recently in France, during the limited driving I did, that it was working how we would like so wondered if it’s only an issue when in countries where we drive on the left. Gives me hope it’s not intentional and will be fixed.

    Auto Wipers

🙋‍♂️Mine basically never dry wiped nor did a bad job until a couple of updates ago. Still no dry wiping but I now need to choose a setting or manual wipe most drives in rain.

    [UK] 2024.8.x

I’ve just had a little drive in France and it isn’t doing the same over here. On the trip to Folkestone it told me to stay on the motorway for pretty much (or all?) junctions but in France it told me I had 40km, or whatever it was, to my exit and there were plenty of exits on the way to mine...

I can’t say I found this last weekend when I went to the Trentham chargers a couple of times. It showed 4 free both times and that was reality.

    So… Highland is out…

I don’t disagree with your post but, from what I’ve seen, a lot of the alternatives are at a much higher price point. When I bought my first M3 I thought they were expensive but their current peers for performance and range seem to be getting crazy expensive. I used to consider the Tesla...

    Hows your adaptive high beam?

On 8.7 too. I’ve just driven back from up North to West London and on the motorway (not the most beneficial place to have it) it was quite interesting to see it keep changing its beam ,quite rapidly, based on where cars were on the road ahead. If I was in inside lane with cars in lane 2 it...

    Thinking of selling

I retired a couple of years ago at 55 and found that I don’t have the same need to keep current with material goods (I no longer have the latest iPhone and don’t care like I did when I was in an office environment). The same goes for my car - despite not realising I’d have that mindset change...

    New Highland UK - stalks

100% in agreement with this. I’ve done the same thing a number of times - I often switch to radio from Bluetooth when reversing off my drive then find I need to turn the volume down. Each time I wonder why I’ve been too impatient to wait a few secs and turn on the radio once going forward...

    Residuals / Depreciation

That video appeared on my YT home page the other day and, sure enough, I got bored quickly and watched something else instead. I agree it would be handy for somebody to summarise when posting links but isn’t that somewhat unfair for those, like [I imagine] this guy, who are trying to earn a...

    Tesla Alternative?

As excellent as the Tesla is for pre-heating, do you not find it’s kinda superficially at the correct temperature when the app suggests it’s got there? If I have the time, I tend to wait another couple of mins or so for the whole cabin to feel warm.

As somebody who found their wipers worked fine (apart from when I had under diluted screenwash) - over the last couple of weeks I’ve had to intervene very regularly on rainy days. What’s frustrating me is that it appears that if I set them on level 3 in TACC then that setting gets lost when you...

    Tesla Alternative?

As the Model X is only available in LHD is that even a valid comparison? I’d say Tesla only really have 3 & Y as viable options in UK now.

    Highland Efficiency

It wasn’t mine - you obviously don’t have the attention span to check that even. Posting a link to a video about highland efficiency is much more relevant than you and others commenting about the length of a YouTube video. And more relevant than me replying to you talking about it too 😀.

    Highland Efficiency

I’d have said that, in a thread talking about highland efficiency, sharing a link to a video (with the link taking you to the pertinent section) talking about highland efficiency is a worthwhile contribution to the thread even without typing out some of the key data points.

    Highland Efficiency

But I was thinking he’ll currently have some non highland M3s for sale so why would he be so relatively positive about highland until he’s shifted those? He normally comes across as a credible reviewer to me.

As they have recently implemented a solution for driving on the content for us with RHD cars then I guess they’d have confidence they can adjust the lights on the fly already.

Trade in Values from Tesla (& other dealers)

I asked for opinions when I basically swapped old for new in 2021 and I’m glad I didn’t listen to those who discouraged me at the time. I see my notional (as I’m not selling anytime soon) depreciation as over 52 months rather than 32 months and it’s more palatable. I’ve lost money quicker on...

    Tesla Alternative?

Somebody near where I live has a lovely looking black Lotus Eletre on their drive so I had a quick Look on Autotrader for pricing of any for sale. Too expensive for me but I was taken aback by how close the design of their centre screen is to the M3 & MY. Not very creative of them. Nice...

    Model 3 Highland Insurance

If maybe reassuring that even several months into the M3 being available in the UK I needed to insure mine as a model S back in Oct 19 - it was the only workaround some of the brokers had. As others have suggested the Highland name is probably never going to be listed anyway.

    2023 Holiday Update

Has anyone tried driving with their eyes closed? Adhoc testing seems to show that it hasn’t nagged me when I’ve closed my eyes for a longer time than it’s nagged me for looking sideways or downwards. It would be useful if it spotted when you were sleeping 🤷‍♂️. I’ve only tried it with my wife...

There’s a mini roundabout I normally use many times every day which is at the end of a High Street. It’s not unusual for somebody to use the roundabout to go back into the High Street from where they had just come. If a car just turns right then it’s really very helpful that they indicate...

Maybe I lack insight but will it be such an issue if the charging points are underutilised for a lot of the time to start with? I’m guessing there will be little cost when not in use and payback will come on busy days and in future. 🤷‍♂️

Need to replace two tyres, should I go for CrossClimate 2s?

I’ll add an imagine to the message I made in the updates thread. I hope you can see it’s the right side which now illuminates further up the road - you can see it clearly just to the right of the lines in the middle of the road.
