    Bought a Model 3 from a 3rd Party Seller

If you're going to supply opinion in a forum outside your regular jurisdiction, realise that UK laws are considerably different, eg. your view is not worth an email postage stamp ;) I'm saying this as a retired US lawyer in the UK.

    Bought a Model 3 from a 3rd Party Seller

I have run both acoustic and non-acoystic PS4s. I couldn't tell any sonic difference...even with my hearing aids turned up ;) Now running Hankooks and think they may be quieter. YMMV.

[UK] Does FSD have any second-hand value?

I feel your pain...but I've enjoyed what functionality available on long haul trips to Iberia. But I too would pass on it the 2nd time around. Hopefully the $99 monthly deal will occur here once the EU gets out of the way should I need a new Tesla.

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

Hope springs eternal. Basically the value is wheel's, tyres and battery, maybe selling the motor off to a conversion garage. Dicey beyond that.

    Supercharger team sacked?

Elon on X It's my suuposition that he is vampire marketing off the backs of the US majors who are rolling out re-branded SCs. Kinda like the move to give everyone a taste of FSD - free AI training data and perhaps some potential sales

Tesla Enhanced AutoPilot, when is AutoPark available in UK?

FSD (more fool, me) V11.1 (2024.8.9)

Tesla Enhanced AutoPilot, when is AutoPark available in UK?

At my last pre-warranty expiration visit to a SC, the car autoparked itself. I pulled out and it did it again. Then I had to show it to the wife who was with me visiting Bletchley Park (recommended!)

    Nope

    Supercharger team sacked?

He's committed to growing the sites already in place and improving reliability. It's a revenue move AND outsourcing the marketing and expansion to the major car companies marketing budget :)

    Octopus Go Deal

Grandson gets the finger Octopus puppet, recycling gets the paper bit. I kinda like the sticky tag - it'll grace my UMC :)

    Good bye

I think Musk is outsourcing the proliferation of SCs and the marketing thereof to the "majors". He's committed to growing the sites already extant and improving reliability. Time will tell.

Spare parts availability - 4 months and still no delivery date?

Thanks for the update on the lamentable US situation. Issues here in this UK-centric group may be better/worse. Probably worse.

Luton Tesla Superchargers open for business

I was by there yesterday and two charger cables were laying on the ground. I'd like to think they were from non-Tesla users...

    MOT Bedford or MK

I got mine done at Mr Clutch in Luton. I took the gen and they were compliant and eager to please. I've had MOTs and brakes done there for 10+ years. Ask for Dave.

What more could you ask for? McDonalds, Starbucks, Costa, Halfords and, er, Poundland just a few steps away ;) And Aldi's just across the throughfare with their handful of slow chargers. Not far from J10 of the M1 and adjacent to Luton Airport Parkway that occasionally has running trains...

Red line on the ground by traffic lights..

Oh no! I parked itself twice in three years... albeit in Spain. Summons works some of the time... The need to signal for a lane change is good disipline for other cars ;-)

    TomTom dash install

Agreed, it looks great. Having my navigator sittting in my lap while driving is a bit awkward. We use the sucky TT mount on the windscreen in front of her 😊

UK : Ditching the 18" Aero Covers

I went for the Rimetrix covers... curb rash easily dealt with a spray can and they also cover historical whoopsies. Cost about the same as redoing three wheels that met their fate from injudicious parking. I collected them on a trip to the US. Just about fit in a suitcase ;-) PS The car...

    Hertz Model Y Rental review

The dreaded phantom touch... worse than phantom braking! I had a problem with this that did not go away with any number of resets. I took the the the Barcelona Service Centre and they subsequently cracked the screen... not covered under warranty. Blamed my garage door clicker for breaking...

French toll tags (e.g. ULYS and others) and Revolut / Starling and UK banks payment - HOW TO

Another factor which drove us to Ulys is the mere €5 bump for French motorway recovery. Thanks to Emovis initially for introducing us to easy French/Spanish toll booth egress... Thanks for the Revolute investigation... I've been using Rev's easy no-fee exchange to wedge up my Spanish back...

    Charging in the Spanish Pyrenees

Amen. The Destination Charge at the parador at Argomaniz is a favourite - a bit tight maneuvering in the garage but free juice is worth the care ;-)

    Non-Tesla charging sucks

My feelings exactly until I encountered Electra in France. The notice said I could be charging in a minute. I said "Go ahead, punk. Make my day ;-)" Damn if it didn't give forth lots of KW with a charge card swipe - and I had an app that might have worked too (Electromap).

Model Y Tyres, difference between Tesla rated and standard?

I'm beginning to think this is a "lesson" built into every Tesla: forget their roadside promise. Same thing happened to me. AA guy came out and did the temp patch and told me to get a real internal patch within 50 miles (company policy). Importantly, he gave me the tip about the plastic...

Road Hero bundle travels with me, always. Having been stuck in northern France on a Sunday with AA or Tesla Roadside unavailable, it's DIY for me.

Model Y Tyres, difference between Tesla rated and standard?

At £80 per embarassment, I've gone with the Rimetrix covers... They are EZ PZ to touch up when they meet a rogue rock on the unpaved track up to my finca ;-)

Michelin Pilot Sport Tyres (non Tesla)

+1 for the photo request. I am running Rimetrix "curb rash covers" and am about to go with the Hankooks... I'm mystified how the wheel cover won't fit...

Checklist for travel in France - advice appreciated

I'll second the motion for the Ulys tag. Works a treat in France and Spain. Big plus is their "Relax" feature for €5 a month that does motorway recovery... having given up on Tesla Roadside and AA (Green Flag untested thus far). Ours clips to the M3's visor (awkwardly) but works fine. No...

Model 3 poll - have you changed battery

The Force us with us... but just in case, I am now carrying a MN21, jumper battery, 10mm spanner and a 12V battery - long expeditions thru France and Spain and horror stories about Tesla support have made me paranoid ;-)
