    Supercharger team sacked?

I don't dispute that but they are claiming it was because she was a woman. A woman he presumably hired and put in that role in the first place. I am not saying he is not a misogynist but there appears zero evidence that her being a woman was a factor here.

    Supercharger team sacked?

Mystery solved  Zero evidence to back this up of course. I am not going to link to the "story" since I don't want to drive any additional traffic to the site

    Supercharger team sacked?

I have always assumed they would sell off the supercharger network one day. Charging is not likely to return the margins Tesla wants from a business so once it is all opened up and no longer a USP and driver of car sales and the transition to EVs is unstoppable it will have served its purpose...

Where is UK Model Y made

Well I did say it would get reported if it happened 🤣

    Supercharger team sacked?

That's one of the the problems with erratic megalomanics they are not big on a) asking permission or b) caring what you think

Where is UK Model Y made

RHD MY have only ever been made in China. If another factory shutdown to retool for RHD it would almost certainly get reported.

Dreaded Front Motor Temporarily Disabled Fault

Yes 8 years 120k miles. and if the fault is covered by the warrenty they should wave the investigation fee but it could easily be something else like wiring which is not covered.

    Fisker ocean - UK forum

They are called we buy ANY car. So presumably refusing to buy a cars could be used against them and would not be good PR. This is probably their way of saying no we don't really want your car.
  9. Jason71

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

True. Which ,if you are VW and there are very few unreliable expensive fuel stations for your competitors cars to use and it leads to more people buying your cars, it makes perfect sense

Tesla Model Y - black Gemini wheel covers

Nice. All the early ones were uni-directional. I heard that there were now bi-directional ones. Though I did see an Ali Express advert once which implied they were bi-directional by showing both sides of the car and they looked right on both sides but actually they just flipped the photo on one...

Only because they are broken most of the time

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

I have heard that before. Worst I have had is a 2010 low millage mini which was about 500ml per 1000 miles, Dealer told me anything under 1 litre was considered OK. The difference on a dipstick from full to empty though is only about 1 litre so I had to top it up about every 2K miles which was a...

Isn't this also true of the genuine Uber turbines as well so assume not that big a deal?
  14. Jason71

Tesla Model Y - black Gemini wheel covers

if you get actually black Geminis ( which I have seen sold) they will look odd because there will be a silver rim all the way around. The after market ones that people a suggesting actually cover the rim so not only do they look better but they protect the rim, Though the clips can actually...

Tesla Model Y - have I made a huge mistake

No there isn't. Everyone uses cameras for Matrix LED headlights so there is nothing special about the new headlight tech ( welcome though it is). The current cameras though are not fit for purpose as rain sensors and never will be. If they could make them work they would have done it by now.

Dreaded Front Motor Temporarily Disabled Fault

Seen similar mentioned. Wiring harness issue or front motor failure maybe. One youtuber cracked a headlight got water ingress in the headlight.and that did something similar so it really could be anything. Just gonna have to wait for the service centre I think.

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

Don't dipsticks usually run in a guided channel? Thus they cant really be badly parked. Also I find this fossil fuel based term to be rather anacronistic. :)

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

True. Fiat500e. I do have to park on the 'wrong' side though to make the cable reach.

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

Duh. I charge a non Tesla at Banbury. Why would you not. Yes there are lots of other options but the Superchargers are about 20p cheaper and 1 minutes walk from a sausage and egg muffin.

    Supercharger team sacked?

your definition of "all in" and mine are very different I think
  21. Jason71

    Supercharger team sacked?

given how successful the superchargers are everyone building or deploying chargers ought to be at least checking out the CV's of the ex supercharger team.

    Model S (2019) vs Model 3 (2021)

I assume the M3 is a MiC one in which case Mic M3 vs Fremont MS I would imagine is going to go heavily in favour of the M3 on the reliability and cost to maintain front. Spoiler alert only one of them appears on this list. You can guess which one.

2023 Model Y A/C - is it me or is it crap

There have been threads and even you tube videos on this. I think its a hardware design I don't think there is a way to raise the air flow higher unless someone 6 foot plus on here wants to say that they can get a strong airflow on their face. But the air should be cool it just does not feel as...

2023 Model Y A/C - is it me or is it crap

I have never found it as strong as on my old non heat pump model 3 but its OK though. A lot of people complain that they cannot get the vents to point high enough on the MY to hit their face. I am not very tall so its OK for me but I have it on max height so If I was taller I think I could see...

Mp3 stuck at 16 amp charging after using public charger

and or get someone local to plug into your charger and confirm they are seeing 32amps.... I assume your home charger is tethered? i.e. you weren't using the same cable on the public charger and home so we can rule that out as not a common factor?

Octopus Electric Universe app/card and public charge points

Gap in the market for a charge point price comparison site then. 😁 Simples.

Octopus Electric Universe app/card and public charge points

Just out of interest I looked at the three nearest charge points to me a Geniepoint, an Osprey and an Instavolt and Electroverse was cheaper for all of them. By quite a bit on some, by 21p per kwh on Osprey apparently! So I don't want to rubbish Electoverse universally. Just my luck to find one...

Octopus Electric Universe app/card and public charge points

I don't do a lot of public charging. But I have done overnight public charging three times recently. On the first two occasions the networks were not on Electroverse ( polar and BP Pulse) so I had to install the apps top-up etc. Then this weekend I stayed at a hotel with chargers belonging to...

Intelligent Octopus, charging, location and automation

My car often thinks it is parked next door. Does not seem to affect IO. Mine works very reliably. Just one point though. Is the home location set in All. Profiles (including easy entry). I had an issue with sentry being on at home every time my wife drove. Turned out home was not set in her profile

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

You are right that no one complains about a particular network for the locations they don't have but they do complain if the ones they do have have issues but he said focus was on expansion of existing locations so presumably that is exactly the right thing to do if you want to maintain your...

Well as far as I can tell they have a year from today to upgrade all of the ones they just opened to support contactless or they are in breech of the new regulations. So lets hope they kept a few people on to do all those upgrades. Does not bode well for expansion though is they are spending all...

He took a look at the model Y and said I want something like that but but designed in 8bit. The Minecraft Model Y. 😁
  35. Jason71

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

Be careful what you wish for. As far as I know though, since the initial batch of chargers they have not opened up any existing ones unless it's part of an upgrade.

    Charging cable with 2023 card

How have you been charging it since 2022? I assume you have a home charger? the plug on the cable in the bag should be the same as that and the plug in the black bag. How is it different? Could be a manufacturing defect unless they really have given you the wrong cable

    2024 Insurance Costs

bodes well for my renewal in July. I have been with admiral for a few years now and I have to say, relative to others, their prices have been reasonable and have not gone up significantly. When I switched from an M3LR to an MYLR mid policy they actually gave me a rebate! I am in that sweet spot...

Tesla Approved-Used vs. Parkers, CAP etc. price chasm

Not sure if it is still the same by Tesla's approach used to be to put the cars on at a really high price then keep dropping the price till they sell. Like a sort of Dutch auction. As a result you could often see very similar cars on their site at wildly different prices just based on how long...

Not only is Rugby pretty busy but the Superchargers are also not open to non Tesla's so that is two reasons why more capacity nearby might make sense.
  41. Jason71

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

I think he is suggesting that even with the longer cables on V4 some EV's may find it hard to get the cables to reach so might still be tempted to use the "wrong" side. If the stalls were positioned a bit further back in the space that might make it better from that POV but it also might make it...

    Battery life...

That figure does vary sometimes. After a software update for example when they change the BMS and it re-sets. I had a 2019 M2LR and it typically showed 285-295 then suddenly it jumped back up to 305 for a while before starting to tail off again.

As someone from a Scientific background the 4th dimension to me is time. Since I doubt you are buying time traveling number plates what the heck is a 4D plate?

I traded mine in to Tesla with vinyl plates on but put the original and the holders etc in the boot. They did not seem to care

    Home charging

Hopefully not a dumb question ( I don't have battery storage) but if the point of the battery is not to charge and discharge it to load shift from one rate to another then what is the point of having it unless you are worried about power cuts? It will last longer if you don't use it but you...

    Home charging

The 4 -7 thing is a bit of a deal breaker. By moving dishwasher plus some runs of washer and drier into the night I have shifted over 50% of my usage to the night rate on intelligent which has taken my average rate down to below 16p.
  47. Jason71

    Home charging

The grid may be able to cope with the load but the local wiring on many estates probably will not ( what with heat pumps as well). There may come a time when DNOs will start to reject applications for chargers pending local network upgrades ( which will never happen) so my advice would be to...
