Terrible service experience, why my 2023 Model S is a regrettable purchase

Sorry to hear this happened to you... but welcome to the party. After similar experiences with two new ones, I went private sale used and paid cash this time. Low mileage and through the first half of the bathtub curve. Still have some issues but nothing I can't handle myself so far. I'll never...

    Tesla in crisis?

Yeah. Perception being the operative word. Don't see the CEO of Ford shamelessly promoting themselves and saying whatever pops into their brain, like the world is blessed by their stream of consciousness. The CEO of Tesla is a blowhard and generally speaking, blowhards put people off. Also...

    Tesla in crisis?

I mean I guess tangentially I kept the used Tesla market up. But as I mentioned before, I bough it privately and in cash. Money spent. So if it breaks in a way that I or an independent repair shop can't fix, I'll sell it for parts or blow it up for YouTube. But no more money to Elon and Tesla...

    Tesla in crisis?

Perception is, at least partially, to blame here. I had the cash set aside to buy a new Model S last summer and instead bought a used one in a private sale. I have other issues with Tesla, which includes the attitude you mentioned but the key reason is I couldn't bring myslef to give Elon...

Elon fires the head of SuperChargers and much (all?) of the SuperCharger team - how will this affect new SCs?

Elon worship is real - if anything the fired workers will come back, appologize to Elon and work harder. They've felt the cold of losing their savior's favor. When the stakes is saving the world, no bad act is unforgivable. This is a pretty common tactic used by abusive people to ensure loyalty.

Elon fires the head of SuperChargers and much (all?) of the SuperCharger team - how will this affect new SCs?

There really isn't a technology issue here. 800v chargers, with longer cables, exist in real ife right now. That and at least 80% of V4 supercharger locations are big enough to have the charging stalls in a passthru configuration (for trailers and non-Teslas). The CT was announced in 2019, they...

Elon fires the head of SuperChargers and much (all?) of the SuperCharger team - how will this affect new SCs?

Not sure what you mean by "short term", it's been well over a decade since the SC started rolling out. If Tesla was going to make charging a key revenue stream, where are the 800v chargers, the space for trailers, and cables long enough to charge other EVs? I see SC for Tesla as nothing more...

Elon fires the head of SuperChargers and much (all?) of the SuperCharger team - how will this affect new SCs?

I awlays imagined the superchargers as loss leaders. Yea some of the busier locations may break even but most probably operate at a loss. However, that money is made up in vehicle sales. I know a key reason I own a Tesla right now instead of a different EV is supercharging. This is probably why...

Elon fires the head of SuperChargers and much (all?) of the SuperCharger team - how will this affect new SCs?

Agreed. Rarely experience any uptime issues. This seems to be Elon flexing when the head of SC didn't take decimating their team seriously. But also, there are key issues with the current state of SCs. No space for trailers, no 800v chargers, short cables, wifi issues, most locations don't have...

Elon fires the head of SuperChargers and much (all?) of the SuperCharger team - how will this affect new SCs?

Is there an uptime issue? I've been to like 200 SCs all across the US and the one thing I can say is that uptime is the least of my issues. I've only seen an entire bank of SCs down once and once every 6 months or so one stall may be down. WAY more concerned with lines and crowding. If I'm...

    Tesla in crisis?

Well this thread suddenly became super relevant again. Laying off the the entire supercharger team AFTER geting mas buy in for NACS. Hopefully this is a sign that the new direction will include 800v charging, longer cables, and passthru locations for trailers/non-teslas.

    Tesla in crisis?

Cause then the millions of Model 3s and Model Ys already on the road would be the "robotaxi". Otherwise, why would he would have to unveil something new and that doesn't exist in the market today? This is, ostensibly, why they don't allow lease buyouts on the M3/MY, cause they were going to...

    Tesla in crisis?

Yeah, even after just two drives with FSD during this 30 day trial period, it's clear that it's still years away from being something that could even be considered by regulators or underwriters for unsupervised use (don't get me wrong, super impressive what they can do with cameras but not...

    Tesla in crisis?

Couldn't agree more. In addition to all of this, having the FSD trial this month has shown how far away true self-driving really is. It's cool and all but nowhere near ready for me to trust it to take my kid to school or pick me up from the bar. Elon keeps talking about automation but we all...
