FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

My guess is that its straining to see something vs not see something. For example, if you're people watching, it's a very different level of concentration and brain engagement than if you're looking out for a specific person in a crowd. You might see someone wave at you, and you think it's...

Well that just sucks... Guess I'd be fitting my car with gallons of Roundup and spray nozzles, and deforesting the intersections around there. 😂

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I'm still rocking this sticker since I joined FSD Beta: I still get occasional people pulling up beside me asking "Dude, is your car driving by itself?" :)

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I've read some people's experiences where FSDS is paralyzed at 4-way stops, taking 10+ seconds to execute a maneuver. That's a bummer, and I'm not sure what the deal is there. The stops near me, and most right turns on red with proper visibility, are just a few seconds long, typically 5...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

If rumors are true, 12.4 removes steering wheel torque requirements in many instances, and it may be that they've found issues with the cabin camera vision tracking, where it's causing false positives on attention monitoring.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

It's definitely an odd human idiosyncrasy. When we are a passenger, in the back seat of an Uber for example, we don't stress as much about how the driver is driving. But when we are behind the wheel, even if the car is driving, we stress more and get more annoyed if the car doesn't do what...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

The argument here is that a merge is neither changing lanes nor turning.

FSD Driving with no Location Set

You may be thinking about the visual map data you see on the screen. This is streamed from Google. The map for navigation is downloaded to the car from another source (there's debate on what this source is). This is the reason you may be out of cell range, so the map on screen is blank, but...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Had a new behavior for me this morning - was in the right lane for an upcoming freeway entrance. Traffic was backed up a little, and there was a strip mall with a few cars waiting to turn right. FSDS slowed down, and left a big gap for a waiting car, and once he went, FSDS pulled up and...

FSD Driving with no Location Set

It's a tough balancing act though. Map data is updated on our cars once or twice a year, so if new construction or lane shifting occurs outside the map updates, the car could be operating on bad GPS/map data.

    Autopilot/FSD Pedestrian Accident

This is why Tesla needs to geo-fence AP. There shouldn't be pedestrians on the freeway where AP is designed to be used. AP should refuse to operate while on city streets / highways.

    Value of FSD on resale

To be totally clear, FSD is locked to the car, so if you sell it, FSD goes with it. The only time FSD was removed from a car when sold was if it was sold back to Tesla or a 3rd party, like Carmax, gets the car back to Tesla. If you sell it private party to someone, they will get FSD if it was...

    Value of FSD on resale

This is true for many upgrades. Prior to my Tesla, I've always sunk about $3k on audio upgrades to my cars. When selling them to dealers / trade in, I've never gotten that money back even a little. The only way to get any back was to sell private party and sell the buyer on the sweet audio. So...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Humans have advanced generalized intelligence, where Tesla has highly specialized, task specific intelligence. Not something that can be compared, obviously. The closest comparison might be to an infant who can't make up its mind on selecting a toy. But that's even a far stretch. The planner...
